How YOU doin'?

It has almost been a year since I have updated this blog...I had so many plans and ideas I wanted to share but then I became addicted to tumblr and caught up and school and just let my blogger kind of drop out of my consciousness.

WELP. I am back. I promise blog, I will update you periodically because I am on a mission. Within the next two years I will make it to Japan if it is the last thing I do and so this will be a log of my journey to glorious Nippon (I am almost saying this non sarcastically). The people most important to me in my life are going to be there for me along the way and together we will work towards our goal. My mother supports me in this although I am not sure she has faith in me following through and my dad may know, but I am not sure he takes me seriously. This isn't going to involve them though, I am an emerging adult and this is a firm step towards being an adult. I may want to go for childish reasons, BUT this is me doing something for me, by myself.

Anyway I just thought I would let anyone who might randomly happen upon my blog know what is going on with me lately. I will still talk about cosplay and other hobbies, but I think I may primarily blog about Japan. The real reason I decided to visit this blogger again is from what I have been hearing about the 10,000 free trips to Japan if you are/become a popular blogger that they are more likely to give to the tickets to the trip so you know I am all over that...now how I get popular is a different story. Nobody gives a shit about what I have to say in all honesty!

Convention schedule and cosplay plans for 2011 ♪♫ ♪

Back so soon, I know!

LOL Random, huh? That's just for funsies.

Well this year is going to be the year of cosplay for me! I am really going to work hard on starting and finishing projects so I can be loud and proud

at my local conventions ヘ(^_^ヘ)(ノ^_^)ノ!

My 2011 convention schedule is as follows:

• All-con - March 18-20th, 2011 in Addison, Texas at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas
• A-Kon - June 10-12, 2011 in Dallas, Texas at the Sheraton Hotel Dallas
• AnimeFest - September 2-5, 2011 in Dallas, Texas at the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion Tower

This is my line up currently, but it is subject to change! I may add some cons later in the year, but I shouldn't be missing any of these.

This is a good outline for what is to come for me this year. I may add things, but like my convention schedule I shouldn't not get any of these done. I am hopeful and excited!

Hello everyone!

Hello, my name is Camille and I am dark skinned with a variety of interests. Why do I specify what color I am first off? Well I like being upfront about who I am and I think the color of my skin comes a long with that. I have hit upon an interesting time in my life, 'emerging adulthood' as developmental psychologist would call it and I thought it would be interesting to have a blog about things I am interested in during this crucial time.

Here's to the year 2011, I don't have any resolutions, but I do have a few goals I'd like to succeed for the next few months and the year. I am not going to get too personal though, this blog is just going to scratch the surface of my life, specifically my hobbies and things that I am interested in.

Moving on to the important stuff...

I dabble in a few different interests, but here I will talk about my nerdiness! I love to watch anime and various cartoons, I have a slight interest in video games (I am no super gamer though) and read comics as well. To further that interest, I am into something called cosplay which I am sure many people are familiar with. Cosplay or costume play is my way of showing my love for my animated/digital hobby by dressing up as characters I like. I also have an extreme interest in Japanese culture whether it be media (anime, various television shows), fashion, traditions and food. One of my goals to reach before the age of 25 is to go to Japan (and a few other Asian countries--China, Korea, Taiwan and more) and stay for an extended period of time to learn more about the country and the language. Although this interest has nothing to do with my degree (Psychology/Public Health) I will make it happen.
